Week 14 NFL Picks

Is there anything better than football in December? Sure, you could say the holidays are nice, being with family and all. It’s also nice to have those few extra days off of work. But wouldn’t you rather have some extra cash? Lucky for you folks, I’m here to give you those weekly winners again.

Last weekend, I went 3-1 in the NFL. That puts me at 20-9 on the season so far. This weekend I’m going to go 4-0. The only question is...will you be in on the wins too? The numbers don’t lie, and you can't argue with results. Speaking of results, here are this weekend’s winners…

Game One: Indianapolis Colts (10-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (7-5).

The Colts won the AFC South last season after beating the Jags in Florida. This year, Jacksonville has been a very tough place for opponents to play. The Jaguars have only given up 47 points in 6 games (5-1) at Alltel Stadium on the season. I love a good defense over a good offense any day. Bet on the Jags (pick) and watch Jacksonville run wild on Indy.

Game Two: Tennessee Titans (5-7) at Houston Texans (4-8).

The Titans have been on a terrific run these last few weeks, behind Vince Young and a solid defense. They not only beat the Eagles and Giants, but last weekend they came from 14 points back to defeat the Colts. This weekend, Tennessee gets to play a perennial doormat in the Texans. That's of course why I’m taking the Texans! I look for David Carr and Andre Johnson to both have big days on Sunday. Take the Texans (-1), you’ll be happy you did.

Game Three: Seattle Seahawks (8-4) at Arizona Cardinals (3-9).

The Cardinals haven't exactly been the greatest franchise recently. Actually, they haven’t even won two games in a row since November of 2004. Can you believe that? They couldn’t win two games in a row in two years! In today’s NFL, with the parity of most Super Bowl Champs not even making the playoffs the following year (Rams, Pats, & probably the Steelers), teams can back into back-to-back wins. Sorry about that...a lot of “back” there. Anyhow, the Cardinals are up to the challenge this weekend. I look for Arizona (+3) to pull it off a win, but most certainly to cover the points.

Game Four: Chicago Bears (10-2) at St. Louis Rams (5-7).

Monday Night Football is back on the list folks, and this is a big one. The Bears, especially Rex Grossman’s, last appearance on Monday night was unforgettable. It was mostly unforgettable because of the horrid play of the quarterback. Luckily for Chicago, the defense and special teams were able to score enough points to bring the team from behind in Arizona. This week, Rex won’t be so lucky. The Rams offense, although quiet of late, is still very capable of putting up points against any team. The Rams have also won their last five home games on Monday night, and with four straight wins against the Bears, I’m feeling that St. Louis just has their number. I’m taking the Rams (+6) on Monday night.

I’m well on my way to another big weekend. Are you on board?
