NCAA Basketball - Thursday, February 29th

Fresh off the heals of another SixTalkingHeads win and another Gator loss, we are back and ready for action! Although NCAA Championship Week is looming, we need to build our bankroll for next weekend's festivities. Tonight, we find ourselves in a pretty good situation.

9pm

4* Play on Georgia Tech +6 vs. North Carolina

Nobody wants to play UNC off a loss, certainly not an 18-10 Georgia Tech team fighting for a tourney bid. Despite the tough matchup, Tech checks into tonight's contest with an 16-1 home mark and some amazing trends behind them. UNC is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs the ACC, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall, and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 as a favorite. Georgia Tech on the other hand is 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog, 6-0 ATS as a dog of 0.5-6.5 pts, 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games vs a team with a record above .600, and 6-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning road record. That's a combined 37-0 trend for you math majors out there. I hate playing against UNC off a loss, but this one smells like Pike's NCAA Game of the Week!

3* Play on Utah State +4.5
vs. Nevada
9pm and the action still hasn't stopped. Nevada comes into tonight's contest as the #10 team in the country, but they might not leave that way. The Utah State Aggies have been more than impressive this year at home with a perfect 14-0 home mark, but the in contrast, the Wolfpack haven't exactly been slouches on the road. Nevada is 12-1 on the road and has only 2 losses this season! Luckily the public is ALL OVER Nevada tonight and Utah State is playing with 15 point revenge from a little over a month ago. Here comes loss #3.

10pm

3* Play on Washington -2.5
vs. USC
The final game of the night should help to cap off the evening on a high note. The #23 Trojans come storming into Husky territory and the Huskies are hungry. Washington is a remarkable 15-2 at home this year and is playing this contest with 7 point overtime revenge! If you remember the first contest, Washington let it slip away at the end - don't expect the result to be the same tonight. USC is just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record while Washington is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite of 0.5-6.5 pts. The hungry Huskies get their revenge. Huskies by 7.

Best of Luck,
Pikes

Documented NCAA Basketball Record: 29-32 (-5 stars)
